Regulation
- The organiser of the International Ice Sculpture Festival is the City of Poznan.
- Only participants who are entered in advance and admitted to participation can take part in the competition.
- 14th International Ice Sculpture Festival will be held 7th – 8th of December.
- The time of the competition “speed carving” at 7th of December is 12:00 am – 6:30 pm.
- At 7th of December participants work in the competition as one-man teams.
- Competitors will be performed the sculpture on the main stage at the Old Market
- Projects of sculptures will be prepared by the organizer of the competition
- Each participant can see projects on the competition before the competition starts
- To make a sculpture the competitors receive a block of ice measuring 1m x 0.5m x 0.25m, electric saw and a saw with a guide carving
- It is allowed to use a chisel to make details
- Competitors will spin reels project before entering the stage
- Competitors finish their work after the regular time in the round – 25 minutes
- In the final round competitors on the execution of the sculptures will have – 35 minutes
- Only one winner will be selected from each of three -and two – person group
- After the conclusion of all the rounds will be selected the winner of 14th of Ice Sculpture Festival in Speed Carving Competition in Poznan
- The winner of each round and the winner will be selected by jury
- The time of the competition at 8th of December is 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on a day announced by the Organiser.
- Participants work in the competition as two-man teams.
- At 8th of December the subject of competition entries is free.
- On the day of the Competition the Organiser will provide:
- workplaces in the form of 3 m x 4 m platforms,
- 7 standard blocks of ice for every team, including:
- 3 blocks of 0 m x 1.0 m x 0.25 m
- 1 block of 0 m x 0.5 m x 0.25 m
- tools – motor-driven chainsaws per team,
- electricity on a stand in accordance with demand declared in advance – 110 V or 220 V,
- auxiliary materials – buckets with water, ladders, brooms,
- illumination of the sculptures after they are finished.
- Additional reservations
- Sculpture height –maximum of 3 m
- Use of numerical machines, milling machines, lathes, mechanical cutters for making of plates is prohibited
- Use of previously prepared materials is prohibited
- Advertising of companies which are not sponsors of the festival is prohibited (it is prohibited to set up advertising banners, distribute advertising materials, leaflets, etc)
- All elements of a sculpture have to be made of ice, no other decorations, such as ribbons, materials, etc. can be used
- It is not allowed to put inscriptions on sculptures.
- The Organiser undertakes to:
- provide the participants with accommodation during their stay in Poznan,
- food and warm beverages during competition work,
- cover all costs of transport of the participants connected with their arrival to and departure from Poznan (airplane, bus, train)
- The participants undertake to:
- take part in the competition on the day announced by the Organiser
- use protective clothing
- transfer all material rights and copyrights on ready works to the Organiser of the competition
- take part in the presentation of ice sculpturing at the day after Competition at 9th of December
- The sculptures will be evaluated by a competition jury
- Evaluation criteria:

- Technical abilities and difficulty – 30 points

- d) Creativity – 10 points
TOTAL 100 points
- The winners of the competition will receive awards.
1st place – 1500 Euro
2nd place – 1000 Euro
3rd place – 750 Euro
